The Brief
I partnered with Studio C to illustrate the "Colour the Coast" mural for the April school holidays. I was commissioned to create a black-and-white outline drawing to be used as a collaborative canvas for children and families to colour in during their visit.

The Strategy
Scalable Vector Execution: Developed clean, simple vector illustrations to ensure the artwork could be scaled to a large-format mural while maintaining high-quality line work for marketing collateral.

Interactive Engagement: Designed the coastline scene as a monochrome outline, specifically made to be transformed by the community into a vibrant display.
Local Narrative: Integrated "Ocean Heroes"—such as the shark, penguin, and dolphin—within a Kapiti-inspired coastline to build a sense of local pride and connection.
The Result
By providing a high-impact, screen-free activity, the mural successfully drove foot traffic and incentivised repeat visits as families returned to add to the artwork. The project turned a central mall space into a creative community hub, delivering a visual that grew in colour every day.
